Lac Georges

We went out to the property on Lac Georges today to take another look and take some pictures. We still feel good about the purchase; once the current owner takes his stuff out of there we can get to work at cleaning the place up. There's a lot work to be done. There's brush to cut, dead trees to haul out of there, waterfront to clean up, steps to build down to the waterfront, cut wood to pile, all sorts of stuff. We also need to finish the shed that was started. All in all, lots of work will pay off and create a very nice cottage property... it is our project for the next few years. So drop on by our Flickr site and check the pictures out.

Pictures Backlog

I went through all the pictures I've taken in the past few months and came across these that I'd not uploaded to here yet.

The first batch are of Geoffrey playing in a diapers box. This was a couple weeks after his birthday. On this night he was truely having a blast simply playing inside a cardboard box. He'd pull the tabs closed to hide himself, giggle a little... then Jack-in-the-Box himself out with a laugh. He'd sometimes stick his fingers out of the holes... all kinds of good simple fun!

The second batch of pictures were taken at Petrie Island out here in Orleans. We had a quick supper along side the beach at one of the many picnic tables and then let him run around in the water in his diaper. He was just-just learning to walk at this point- he was very shakey in the legs and fell every other step. We even got a picture of his water-sock footprint in the sand.

As always, Ihope you enjoy the pictures!

Lonestar Ranch

This past Saturday was my company outing to the Lonestar Ranch. It was a family outing, so Adrian and Geoffrey came to the Ranch to have some food and fun in the sun.
Geoffrey had the opportunity to take his first pony ride, and he did... 5 times! He wasn't too sure the first time; to him they were big 'Doggies', as he called them.
Sadly our good camera is having issues, so I took pictures with the low resolution video camera instead... but at least I capture some video too (which I'll get online at a later date).
Adrian also got her face painted, the woman doing the art was really good... I wish the pictures did the painting justice; I guess this just shows we're in need of a new camera!
I hope you enjoy the pictures, we truely had a great time.

Big Boy Bed

We captured a short video of Geoffrey in his new bed sleeping for the first time. So far he's been more than happy to sleep in his new bed; as I type this he's down for his 4th night, and I'm hoping he sleeps through the whole night yet again.
Adrian informed me a few minutes ago that he was sleeping at the foot of his bed, so she's gone upstairs to move him to a better spot near the head of the bed where the side-rail is... aparently he's rolling around a little this evening.
So I hope you enjoy the short video (~9MB)!

Geoffrey's First Birthday

This past Monday was Geoffrey's 1st Birthday.
We had around 20 or so people come over to celebrate his 1st on the Saturday, we really had a good time.

I finally got around to editing and posting some of the pictures that were taken during the day. I've placed them in their usual spot on our Flickr site. Geoffrey truely enjoyed himself, and as usual loved all of the attention.

These pictures were taken by Adrian's father Geoff, and Vicky, our neighbor two doors down. Thank you for taking some many good pictures, I didn't have the time to take any myself!

At the Parks

This weekend Geoffrey visited a few parks. Friday night he went to Riverside Park, a small duck-feeding park near our old apartment building. He had a lot of fun watching the bird, mostly seagulls (big surprise), Adrian fed them and he watched very intently. Afterwards we took out the camera and snapped some pictures of him crawling in the grass and climbing the trees.

On Saturday night we went to another park near Carleton University. He had an absolute blast, crawling around the play structures and watching the big kids jump round and riding the rides. The pictures make it seem a lot darker than it actually was; it was only around 8pm! Silly flash makes it look more like 3am! Oh well - I'm not a master of the camera.

Anyways, I really hope you enjoy the photos we took; enjoy!

Lights, Camera... Action!

Well, right now I am encoding the video we took this evening of Geoffrey crawling around the house. It tells me its going to take another hour or more to encode the video off the camera. We took about 30 minutes of him crawling around and playing.

Since it does not look like I am going to have the time to actually encode and get the videos online, I thought I'd link a couple other video clips I encoded off the video camera this week. The video quality is not the greatest; I had to compress it to make downloading it over the internet somewhat bearable.

First I have one of Geoffrey in his Jolly Jumper, which was taken when Ski and Geoff were visiting us - I may have already shown some of you this video, but here it is again.

Next, I have the video of Geoffrey at the pool. This was taken about a month ago. Geoffrey and Adrian are in the pool for Geoffrey's lesson... He really loves the pool

Geoffrey's First Haircut

Today we took Geoffrey to St. Laurent Shopping Center to get his first haircut. He was extrememly well behaved, but I do not think he really had any idea what was going on.

His hair was really getting long... he'd even taught himself to blow the hair out of his eyes when he was playing or trying to go to sleep; that was our cue as parents that it indeed was time to go see the barber.

We took a few pictures while we were there, head on over to our Flickr page to see the rest of them!

Geoffrey At Pool and Scotia Bank Place

This past weekend was Geoffrey's 8 month birthday celebration, and he had a busy Saturday!

It started off with some time at the pool. As we've mentioned before, Geoffrey has swimming classes every Saturday morning. He really seems to enjoy it, and he shows no fear of the water. He's more than happy to completely dunk under the water and have mom help him swim to catch toys.

After the pool we were off to Scotia Bank Place (the former Corel Center) to see Sparticat and skate around on the ice. My workplace organized a couple hours of skating at the arena where the Ottawa Senators play; it was a real good time.

As you can see from the pictures we had a great weekend. If you want to check out all of our pictures taken this weekend, check them all out on Flickr!

Enjoy!

I caught Geoffrey standing up in his crib tonight. I first caught him doing this this past Wednesday evening, but he'd tumbled over before I could get the camera ready.

Tonight I planned ahead and had the camera primed in case he stood up again. I snapped a couple of pictures of him standing up that you can check out over on Flickr... enjoy!

UPDATE: Pool Video

I just wanted to post a quick note - as you read below, Geoffrey is still awake here at 11:30 PM... so I've not had time to finalize a copy of the Geoffrey at the Pool video I took last weekend. I'll try and get it up early this week.

Until then, enjoy the couple new pictures of Geoffrey in his playpen!

In the Playpen

Just a quick note - I've uploaded some new pictures of Geoffrey sitting in his playpen from tonight. I took them about 15 minutes ago... yes, he was still awake at 11 PM!!!

He was sick last night, but aparently he stored all of the energy he would have spent yesterday and saved it for today. Silly little boy.

Geoffrey's First Time in the Bathtub

Geoffrey had his first bath in the bathtub tonight. He had a good time in the tub, but started shivering a little near the end. He wasn't too sure at first, but he ended up enjoying the whole affair.

I've uploaded the few pictures I took of the guy to Flickr, so jump on over and check them out!

Tomorrow Geoffrey will be in the water yet again, this time for swimming lessons. He's already been to the pool once with Adrian earlier this week for an arobic exercise for moms. Geoffrey got to sit in a rubber-duck inflatable ring and float around the pool. Adrian said she could feel his feet kicking around the the water, and that he was the only baby there that did not cry at all - he had a blast.

Hopefully he'll still like the water for his class tomorrow... wish us luck!

Updated Website - Work In Progress

As you can clearly see, I've started working on a new layout for the website. So far I've whipped up a quick layout and moved the news front-end to blogger to reduce the number of problems I've had trying to get news to post on my local machine here at home. I'm in the process of converting the old content from the old website over to this one, starting with the photoalbums section.

This section alone is a huge undertaking, but I want to set it up so that people can still access it. It should be noted, however, that if anyone was directly linking to any photographs that the links to them will all be broken now since the full paths to the pictures have changed in order to keep the directory structures on the new site more uniform (the old site was getting a little out of control). Also note that if you were directly linking to any pictures... well, you should not have been; and I'd like to point out that I'd hope people do not directly link to them either.

Also, the photo album section will no longer be updated; I am moving all the photos to the fantastic Flickr website. This reduces the amount of time I need to spend on updating the website - it should allow for more frequent updates.

As changes and milestones in the update are reached, I'll make sure to update here in the news. Also, if we upload images to Flickr, I will also post an update, so please visit us now and again to see what's new.

I hope you enjoy the new simplified website.
